Xxxxxx (Due Process) Meeting Right. The Department Head proposing demotion / termination or a suspension of any length shall hold a meeting with the employee and his or her Union representative to discuss and consider the reasons for the proposed action. The purpose of the meeting is to give the employee an opportunity to respond to the charges before a final decision is made by the Department Head. Prior to the meeting the employee shall receive written notice of the reason(s) for the proposed action. A decision on the proposed action shall be issued by the Department Head within ten (10) working days of the meeting and shall be sent to the affected employee with a copy sent to his or her Union.
