XXXXXX.XXX FORMATTING AND VALIDATION REQUIREMENTS. Xxxxxx.xxx allows the following list of UTF-8 characters when naming your attachments: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, underscore, hyphen, space, and period. Other UTF-8 characters should not be used as they will not be accepted by NIH’s eRA Commons, as indicated in item #9 in the table below. • Scanned images must be scanned at 150-200 dpi/ppi resolution and saved as a PDF file. Using a higher resolution setting or different file type will result in a larger file size, which could result in rejection of your application. • Any files uploaded or attached to the Xxxxxx.xxx application must be PDF file format and must contain a valid file format extension in the filename. In addition, the use of compressed file formats such as ZIP, RAR or Adobe Portfolio will not be accepted.
