Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.
Overtime Definition Overtime shall be defined as being all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day, or in excess of the normal or standard work week. The overtime rate shall be one and one-half (1½) times the regular straight time hourly rate of pay. NOTE: Article 16.04 is applicable to full-time employees only.

Commencement of Grid Rate 5.2.1 Number of days to go on grid: A substitute teacher employed for more than four (4) consecutive school days as a replacement for a specific teacher shall be placed on the basic salary schedule on the fifth (5th) consecutive school day according to the substitute teacher's qualifications and experience.
Overtime Calculation For the purpose of overtime calculation only, approved or scheduled time off work will be considered the same as time worked.
Standard Work Week The standard work week shall be thirty-five (35) hours and is composed of five (5) consecutive standard work days.
Missed Meal Breaks (a) (applicable to full-time employees only) If an employee is authorized to work, during the lunch break, due to the requirements of patient care, he will be paid time and one-half (1½) his regular straight time hourly rate for all time worked in excess of his normal daily hours.
Definition of Bargaining Unit Where the words “bargaining unit” or “union” are used in this Agreement, such reference shall be deemed to mean COPE Local 378 members employed by the Employer and covered by the certificate referred to in Section 1.01 of this Agreement.
Definition of Overtime Overtime means those hours worked in excess of normal hours of work as per Article 8.1 (Normal Work Week).
