This Data Provider Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made as of the date last signed below (the “Effective Date”), by and between sovrn, Inc., a Delaware corporation, on behalf of itself and its Affiliates (“SOVRN”), and the entity set forth below (“Company”, together with SOVRN, the "Parties" and each, a "Party"). As used in the Agreement, “Affiliate” means, with respect to a Party, any legal entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with, such Party. This Agreement consists of this cover page, the attached Standard Terms and Conditions (together with this cover page, the “Standard Terms”), and any exhibit that expressly references this Agreement and is signed by both Parties (each, an “Exhibit”).

This agreement (“the Agreement”) forms part of the Terms of Use (“Terms of Use”) of GS1 Solutions including Barcode Manager, Verified by GS1 and the GS1 Global Registry Platform, is entered into by and between GS1 Ireland and the GS1 Ireland member which is identified as the Data Provider hereunder (“Data Provider”), and which provides its acceptance of these Terms of Use and the Agreement by click-to-accept. This Agreement is effective as of the date on which they were first accepted by Data Provider in accordance with the above. They are in addition to the GS1 Ireland Membership (Registration) Terms & Conditions and the Barcode Manager Terms of Use. Where there is any ambiguity between any Agreement or set of Terms, the GS1 Ireland Membership (Registration) Terms & Conditions shall prevail.

These represent valuable contributions to both IRIS and the international seismological research community who collaborate to make these data openly and freely available. This document articulates the responsibilities of IRIS Data Services (DS) as well as the data contributor in this collaboration.

Introduction: In 1988, the IRIS Data Management Center (DMC) was established and began managing data from primarily the IRIS Global Seismograph Network (GSN) program. As it matured, data from other IRIS programs (i.e. PASSCAL) and USGS global networks started being managed at the IRIS DMC. Beginning with primarily IRIS programs and our close collaborators in the GSN the IRIS DMC has expanded and now nearly 50% of the data it manages comes from non-IRIS sources. These represent valuable contributions to both IRIS and the international seismological research community, but a recent external review panel recommended IRIS Data Services (DS) establish a formal agreement between IRIS DS and data providers. This document will better articulate the responsibilities of IRIS DS as well as the data contributor in this collaboration.
