This policy is provided to make all users aware of the responsibilities associated with efficient, ethical, and lawful use of technology resources provided by the district. If an individual violates any of the User Terms and Conditions named in this policy, technology privileges may be terminated, access to school district technology resources may be denied, and disciplinary action shall be applied to student infractions.

All Farrell Area School District students in grades three (3) through twelve (12) will be issued a Chromebook for educational use during the school day, on school grounds. Optionally, the parent or legal guardian may choose to agree to allow the student to take the Chromebook off school grounds and into their home. This agreement is to ensure that the Chromebook issued by the district will be used in an appropriate manner and kept in its original condition, except for normal wear and tear. If the device, its case, power adapter and cord, and all other accessories are not returned in their original condition, except for normal wear and tear, the parent or legal guardian of the student will be financially responsible for any and all costs for repair or replacement of the device. NEWPORT PUBLIC SCHOOLS STUDENT CHROMEBOOK AGREEMENTStudent Chromebook Agreement • October 3rd, 2021
The Newport School Department will provide each student with a Chromebook that will be used in school. The Chromebook is to be used as a positive learning tool in coordination with the district’s curriculum. Although this agreement authorizes the student’s use of the device for the year, the device is the property of the district and must be returned upon the district’s request or on the last day of the student’s attendance for the school year. In using the device, the student is subject to and must comply with all district policies, procedures, and regulations. A violation of any of these policies could result in loss of network privileges, loss of the right to use the Chromebook, or appropriate discipline.
