Academic Year (AY) definition

Academic Year (AY) means a period consisting of a fall and spring semester of approximately 39 weeks.

  • Academic year means the period of twelve months beginning on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July or 1st September according to whether the course in question begins in the winter, the spring, the summer or the autumn respectively but if students are required to begin attending the course during August or September and to continue attending through the autumn, the academic year of the course is to be considered to begin in the autumn rather than the summer;

  • Academic Unit means an Academic Department, research unit, School, non-departmentalized Faculty, Faculty of Medicine Division, the Fisheries and Marine Institute, the School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies, the Student Wellness and Counselling Centre, or the University Library, to which one (1) or more ASMs have their primary or sole appointment. For Counselling Faculty Members at Xxxxxxxx Campus who are not members of a School, the Academic Unit shall be Xxxxxxxx Campus. For Faculty Members in the Faculty of Medicine who are not members of a Division, the Academic Unit shall be the Faculty.

  • Academic term means a division of the school year during which a course of studies is offered, and includes a semester, quarter, or single consolidated summer term as defined by the institution.

  • Semi-annual (2/Year) sampling frequency means the sampling shall be done during the months of June and December, unless specifically identified otherwise.

  • Research Period means the research period as described in the Commissioned Research Plan. In accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, in the event that the Agreement ended prior to the completion date of the research originally set, the date the Agreement ends shall be read as the research period.

  • Annual Net Sales means, with respect to any Calendar Year, the aggregate amount of the Net Sales for such Calendar Year.

  • Developed exclusively at private expense means development was accomplished entirely with costs charged to indirect cost pools, costs not allocated to a government contract, or any combination thereof.

  • Class Year Study means a Class Year Interconnection Facilities Study as that term is defined in OATT Section 25 (OATT Attachment S).

  • Calendar Year means each successive period of twelve (12) months commencing on January 1 and ending on December 31.

  • Yearly (1/Year) sampling frequency means the sampling shall be done in the month of September, unless specifically identified otherwise in the effluent limitations and monitoring requirements table.

  • Academic Board means the Academic Board of the University College established under paragraph 13;

  • Basic research means any original investigation for the advancement of scientific or technological knowledge that will enhance the research capacity of this state in a way that increases the ability to attract to or develop companies, jobs, researchers, or students in this state.

  • Annual Enrollment Period or "Enrollment Period" means the period before each policy anniversary so designated by the Sponsor and Lincoln during which you may enroll for coverage under this policy.

  • Development District means Municipal Development District No. 4 in the City, which is described in the corresponding Development Program.

  • Post-Distribution Period means any Tax Period beginning after the Distribution Date and, in the case of any Straddle Period, the portion of such Tax Period beginning on the day after the Distribution Date.
