Answering Agency definition

Answering Agency is the Agency that responds to the request for emergency medical services or non-emergency medical services. The “Requesting Agency”is the Agency requesting medical transportation services assistance under this agreement.

  • These requests by the Requesting Agency may or may not originate within jurisdictional boundaries of the Answering Agency.

  • The Answering Agency shall be responsible for all patient and third-party billing and agrees that the rates to be billed shall comply with applicable laws.

A State or local agency of similar qualifications or, when the effects are on a reservation, an Indian Tribe, may by agreement with the lead agency become a cooperating agency.
