Approach surface definition

Approach surface means an inclined plane which extends outward and upward from the runway threshold at a slope of 20:1, 20 feet horizontal to 1 foot vertical. The approach surface has dimensions which are bound by the vertical projection of the approach area.
Approach surface means an imaginary plane longitudinally centered on a runway's centerline extended, and extending outward and upward from each end of that runway's primary surface, which plane has the specifications described in section 2c.
Approach surface means a surface longitudinally centered on the extended runway centerline, extending outward and upward from the end of the primary surface and at thesame slope as the approach zone height limitation slope set forth in Section 18.25.050. In the plan the perimeter of the approach surface coincides with the perimeter of the approach zone.

More Definitions of Approach surface

Approach surface means he same as defined in the Aeronautics Act, 1989.
Approach surface means a surface longitudinally centered on the extended runway centerline and extending outward and upward. For non-Federal Aid Airports, the surface extends at a slope of 15:1 from each end of the primary surface. An approach surface is applied to each end of each runway based upon the type of approach available or planned for that runway end. The inner edge of the approach surface is the same width as the primary surface and it expands uniformly to a width of:
Approach surface means a surface longitudinally centered on the extended runway centerline and extending outward and upward. An approach surface is applied to each end of each runway.
Approach surface means an area that surrounds and protects the landing approach area, which is longitudinally centered on the extended runway centerline and extends outward and upward from each end of the runway primary surface. “Emergency Airport” means any landing area so designated by the Department for use under emergency or unusual circumstances.
Approach surface means an area that surrounds and protects the landing approach area, which is longitudinally centered on the extended runway centerline and extends outward and upward from each end of the runway primary surface.
Approach surface means a surface longitudinally centered on the extended runway centerline and extending outward and upward from such end of the primary surface. An approach surface is applied to the end of each runway based upon the type of approach available or planned for that runway end. (Ord. 92-12 § 5 (App. A), 1992).
