The initial training course for persons seeking accreditation as an Asbestos Abatement Worker shall provide a minimum three (3) days of training as outlined below.
This documentation shall include, but shall not be limited to: (i) name, address and Missouri Asbestos Abatement Worker (or Supervisor/Foreperson) Certification Number for each employee; (ii) a copy of each employee’s Missouri certification card and (iii) a daily sign in/out log identifying each person performing work on Site by name and Missouri Asbestos Abatement Certification Number and the length of time each person is on the Site.
Experience and Training: All workers employed for abatement throughout the project shall be accredited as an Asbestos Abatement Worker in accordance with the AHERA regulation 40 CFR Part 763, Subpart E, Appendix C (ASHARA) and be licensed as SCDHEC Asbestos Workers.
All persons seeking to maintain accreditation as an Asbestos Abatement Worker must complete an annual refresher training course.
Any work performing abating services must possess an Asbestos Abatement Worker 253W Certificate, in accordance with Section 20 of Ontario Regulations 278/05 – Designated Substance – Asbestos on Construction Projects and in Buildings and Repair Operations.
The Contractor/Supervisor course may be substituted for the Asbestos Abatement Worker course.
Any worker involved in asbestos abatement, as defined in this Specification, must have successfully completed, at a minimum, an AHERA approved Asbestos Abatement Worker Course.
