Averaging time definition

Averaging time means the time over which the exposure is averaged. For noncarcinogens, the averaging time typically equals the exposure duration. For carcinogens, the averaging time equals the life expectancy of a person.

Averaging time means the time period over which air pollutant concentrations are averaged for the purpose of determining attainment with the emission standard using Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
