Bereavement During Vacation Clause Samples
The 'Bereavement During Vacation' clause defines how an employee's vacation leave is affected if a bereavement occurs during their scheduled time off. Typically, this clause allows employees to convert a portion of their vacation days to bereavement leave if they experience the death of a close family member while on vacation. For example, if an employee is on a week-long vacation and a qualifying bereavement event occurs, the relevant days may be reclassified as bereavement leave, preserving the employee's vacation entitlement. Bereavement During Vacation. An employee who is eligible for bereavement leave as outlined in this Collective Agreement while on vacation may substitute bereavement leave for the period of the entitled vacation during which the employee was absent on bereavement leave. In such an event, the employee may reschedule his/her vacation at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and his/her Supervisor.
