Categorical Pretreatment Standard or Categorical Standard definition

Categorical Pretreatment Standard or Categorical Standard means any regulation containing pollutant discharge limits promulgated by EPA in accordance with sections 307(b) and (c) of the Act (33 U.S.C. § 1317) which applies to a specific category of users and which appear in 40 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter N, Parts 405-471.
