Chief of a Department definition

Chief of a Department means a member of the Professional Staff appointed by the Board to be responsible for the professional standards and quality of care rendered by the members of that department at the Hospital;
Chief of a Department means a member of the Professional Staff appointed by the Board of Directors to be responsible for the professional standards and quality of medical care rendered by the members of his/her department at the Health Centre Sites;
Chief of a Department means a member of the Professional Staff appointed by the Board to be responsible for the professional standards and conduct and quality of clinical care, diagnosis and treatment provided by the members of his/her department at the Hospital;

Examples of Chief of a Department in a sentence

  • Before the Chief Executive Officer or delegate, the Chief of Staff/Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee or delegate, or Chief of a Department or delegate takes action authorized in subsection 5.3(1), they shall first consult with one of the other of them.

  • If the Chief of Staff/Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee or delegate or Chief of a Department or delegate becomes aware that, in his or her opinion a serious problem exists in the diagnosis, care or treatment of a patient, the officer shall forthwith discuss the condition, diagnosis, care and treatment of the patient with the attending member of the Privileged Staff.

  • This time limitation is not applicable to hearings conducted to review suspensions of five (5) days or less imposed by a Chief of a Department on one of its members.

  • Qualification of Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs: Each Chief and Assistant Chief of a Department must be a member of the Attending Staff of his Department for two (2) years, must remain in good standing throughout their term, must be recognized for their clinical ability, musthave demonstrated executive and administrative abilities, and must willingly and faithfully discharge the functions of its office and work with the other officers of the Staff, the CEO and the Board.Subsection 3.

  • The appointment of a Chief of a Department shall be for three (3) years.

  • At the discretion of the Board upon the recommendation of the Chief of Staff, the Chief of a Department may be re-appointed to a second three (3) year term.

  • Subject to annual confirmation by the MAC, the Chief of a Department shall continue to hold office until a successor is appointed.

  • Where a Credentialed Professional Staff Member wishes to change his or her Procedural Privileges, the Chief of a Department shall complete a form which shall be submitted to the Medical Advisory Committee listing the change of Procedural Privileges which are requested and evidence of appropriate training and competency along with the recommendation of the Chief of Department for approval by the Medical Advisory Committee.
