Employees will stop accruing Company Seniority and their date will be adjusted for periods on educational and personal leaves of absence that exceed 90 days.
An employee’s Company Seniority begins on the date an employee is placed on the Company’s payroll.
If temporary employees are hired as regular employees without a break in service, their period of their temporary employment will be credited against and deducted from their probationary period, their Company Seniority will accrue from the time they were hired as a temporary employee, and their Bid Seniority will accrue from the time awarded a regular permanent vacancy.
Company Seniority shall be defined as total length of continuous service with the Company as determined in accordance with 3.7. Company Seniority shall be used as the basis for determining such benefits as sick leave, retirement, vacations and protection against demotion and lay-off.
