Credit Repair Service definition

Credit Repair Service means any service for the express or implied purpose of: (1) improving any Consumer’s credit report, credit record, credit history, credit profile, credit score, or credit rating; or (2) providing advice or assistance to any Consumer with regard to any activity or service the purpose of which is to improve a Consumer’s credit report, credit record, credit history, credit profile, credit score, or credit rating.
Credit Repair Service means any service, in return for payment of money or other consideration, for the express or implied purpose of: (A) improving any consumer’s credit record, credit history, or credit rating; or (B) providing advice or assistance to any consumer with regard to any activity or service the purpose of which is to improve a consumer’s credit record, credit history, or credit rating.
Credit Repair Service means selling, providing, or performing any service (or representing that such service can or will be sold, provided, or performed) through the use of any instrumentality of interstate commerce or the mails, in return for the payment of money or other valuable consideration, for the express or implied purpose of (1) improving any consumer’s credit record, credit history, or credit rating, (2) providing advice or assistance to any consumer with regard to any activity or service described in clause (1).

Credit Repair Service means any program or service represented to remove derogatory information from, or improve, a person’s credit history, credit record, or credit rating as described in 16 C.F.R. § 310.4(2).
