Displaced Teacher definition

Displaced Teacher means a surplus teacher who, following an opportunity to voluntarily transfer, has not obtained another teaching position of his/her choice for the ensuing school year and who is being placed in a teaching position through a Board Initiated Transfer.
Displaced Teacher means any nonprobationary teacher who is removed from the teacher’s assigned school as a result of Board action pursuant to a drop in enrollment; turnaround; phase-out; reduction in program; or reduction in building, including closure, consolidation or reconstitution.
Displaced Teacher means that teacher in a school who, subject to program protection, is the least senior teacher in that school based upon system-wide seniority and who has no position remaining in that school for the following school year.

Examples of Displaced Teacher in a sentence

  • In the case of a change of assignment resulting from a Displaced Teacher Event, the status of the affected teacher shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph C of this Article below.

  • Examples of reasons District initiated Displaced Teacher positions include, but are not limited to reductions in class or building size, changes in student enrollment, imbalances in staffing needs, and changes in curriculum.

  • A Displaced Teacher may pursue any and all positions for which they are qualified.

  • Teachers having the most District seniority will be given first choice of the available Displaced Teacher Pool positions for which they are certified.

Displaced Teacher. Any teacher so displaced shall receive written notice of such displacement within seven calendar days of the exercise of replacement rights by a teacher as provided by Section 6 of this Article, without the need for any hearing applicable to termination.

The Board engages in two hiring cycles each calendar year: first, when the Board projects and fills staffing needs for the next school year (between approximately March and the day before the first student contact day of the next school year and second, as the Board review its current staffing and makes adjustments as necessary during the current school year (from the first student contact day through the last student contact day of the current school year).
Displaced Teacher. One who is regularly employed as a staff member whose position has been or is to be eliminated. The displaced teacher shall bump first into the same certification area, and second into another certification area. Bumping shall occur as follows: The senior displaced teacher shall be placed in the position held by the least senior teacher whether in the same or another certification area.
Displaced Teacher. A displaced teacher is defined as a unit member who will be involuntarily transferred or involuntarily reassigned due to a reduction in enrollment, change in capacity, or closing of a facility, change in educational program, or reconfiguration due to federal and/or state laws or regulations, or for any other reason.

  • Displaced Person means a person who, on account of the execution of the Project, has experienced or would experience direct economic and social impacts caused by: (i) the involuntary taking of land, resulting in: (A) relocation or loss of shelter; (B) loss of assets or access to assets; or (C) loss of income sources or means of livelihood, whether or not such person must move to another location; or (ii) the involuntary restriction of access to legally designated parks and protected areas, resulting in adverse impacts on the livelihood of such person; and “Displaced Persons” means, collectively, all such Displaced Persons.

  • Displacement means the relative movement of any two sides of a fault measured in any direction.
