Displaced Persons definition

Displaced Persons means persons who, on account of the execution of the Project, have experienced or would experience direct economic and social impacts caused by: (a) the involuntary taking of land, resulting in: (i) relocation or loss of shelter; (ii) loss of assets or access to assets; or (iii) loss of income sources or means of livelihood, whether or not such persons must move to another location; or (b) the involuntary restriction of access to legally designated parks and protected areas, resulting in adverse impacts on the livelihood of such persons; and a “Displaced Person” means any of such Displaced Persons.
Displaced Persons means families, individuals, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and farms that permanently move from the Project or permanently move property from the Project as a direct result of acquisition, reconstruction, rehabilitation, or demolition of the Project or as otherwise provided in Sections 570.488 and 570.606 of the CDBG Regulations, except as such sections are waived by HUD.

Examples of Displaced Persons in a sentence

  • In the event there are any Displaced Persons as a result of any of the Units being acquired or constructed with CDBG-DR funds, Developer shall comply with the requirements and provisions of a valid relocation plan under the law.

  • All Displaced Persons are entitled to compensation or other appropriate assistance and mitigation measures, regardless of whether these persons have been identified at the time of resettlement planning, and regardless of whether sufficient mitigation funds have been allocated.

  • In the context of involuntary resettlement, Displaced Persons are those who are physically displaced (relocation, loss of residential land, or loss of shelter) and/or economically displaced (loss of land, assets, access to assets, income sources, or means of livelihoods) because of (i) involuntary acquisition of land, or (ii) involuntary restrictions on land use or on access to legally designated parks and protected areas.

More Definitions of Displaced Persons

Displaced Persons means PAPs who are forced to relocate from their previous location because (i) all of their land or buildings are acquired for a community project, or (ii) because the amount of land or buildings acquired renders the remaining portion economically unviable or uninhabitable.

Displaced Persons means persons who, on account of the execution of any activity under the Project, had or would have their: (i) standard of living adversely affected; or (ii) right, title, or interest in any house, land (including premises, agricultural and grazing land) or any other fixed or movable asset acquired or possessed, temporarily or permanently; or (iii) access to productive assets adversely affected, temporarily or permanently; or (iv) business, occupation, work or place of residence or habitat adversely affected, temporarily or permanently; and “Displaced Person” means any of the Displaced Persons.

Displaced Persons means persons who, on account of the execution of the Recipient’s Respective Parts of the Project, have experienced or would experience direct economic and social impacts caused by: (i) the involuntary taking of land, resulting in: (A) relocation or loss of shelter; (B) loss of assets or access to assets, or (C) loss of income sources or means of livelihood, whether or not such persons must move to another location; or (ii) the involuntary restriction of access to legally designated parks and protected areas, resulting in adverse impacts on the livelihood of such persons; and “Displaced Person” means any of such Displaced Persons.
Displaced Persons means a City of San Buenaventura resident or residents who resided in a Qualifying Fire Damaged Structure and cannot occupy the structure. Displaced Person(s) may be required to provide verification to the City to substantiate their eligibility for uses, permits and/or approvals described in this chapter. Evidence may consist of verification by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) registration or damage assessment, and/or a driver's license or other government-issued identification card or utility bill, etc. with a physical address showing the resident resided on a legal parcel impacted bythe Thomas Fire, as determined by the City.
