Effective intensity definition

Effective intensity means the ratio of the ultrasonic power to the focal area for a focusing applicator. For all other applicators, the effective inten- sity is the ratio of the ultrasonic power to the effective radiating area. Effec- tive intensity is expressed in watts per square centimeter (W cm¥2).
Effective intensity means the effective intensity of a flashing light is equal to the intensity of a fixed light of the same colour which will produce the same visual range under identical conditions of observation;
Effective intensity means that intensity of a light in candela as defined by the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Guide for Calculating the Effective In tensity of Flashing Signal Lights, No vember, 1964.

Examples of Effective intensity in a sentence

  • Effective intensity means the effective intensity of a flashing light is equal to the intensity of a fixed light of the same colour which will produce the same visual range under identical conditions of observation.

  • Effective intensity for a given pressure is calculated by integrating the curve of intensity versus position and normalizing it with respect to the maximum value for that integral attained over the pressure range.

  • Effective intensity of the current sheet as a function of back-fill pressure Figure 6 shows a plot of effective current sheet extent versus pressure.

Related to Effective intensity

  • Dose is a generic term that means absorbed dose, dose equivalent, effective dose equivalent, committed dose equivalent, committed effective dose equivalent, total organ dose equivalent, or total effective dose equivalent. For purposes of these regulations, "radiation dose" is an equivalent term.

  • Fluoroscopic imaging assembly means a subsystem in which X-ray photons produce a visual image. It includes the image receptor(s) such as the image intensifier and spot-film device, electrical interlocks, if any, and structural material providing linkage between the image receptor and diagnostic source assembly.

  • Anaerobic digestion ’ means a controlled process involving microbial decomposition of organic matter in the absence of oxygen ;

  • Bioassay means the determination of kinds, quantities or concentrations and, in some cases, the locations of radioactive material in the human body, whether by direct measurement, in vivo counting, or by analysis and evaluation of materials excreted or removed from the human body. For purposes of these rules, “radiobioassay” is an equivalent term.
