Frazil ice definition

Frazil ice means ice formed in supercooled water as small particles moving turbulently enough to prevent the formation of a sheet of ice.
Frazil ice means “[s]mall ice crystals that can block water intakes.” The Water Dictionary (2nd ed. 2010) at 245, incorporated by reference in 35 Ill. Adm. Code 601.115(b); see 35 Ill. Adm. Code 601.105(c).
