LHSIA definition

LHSIA means the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006, and the regulations made under it, as it and they may be amended from time to time;

• This Agreement is a service accountability agreement for the purposes of section 20(1) of LHSIA.

• The HSP and the LHIN, being committed to a health care system as envisioned by LHSIA and the Patient’s First: Action Plan for Health Care (“Patients First”), intend to cooperate to advance the purpose and objects of LHSIA and the further development of a patient-centered, integrated, accountable, transparent, and evidence-based health system contemplated by LHSIA and Patients First.

• In this section 6.0, the terms “integrate”, “integration” and “services” have the same meanings attributed to them in section 2(1) and section 23 respectively of LHSIA, as it and they may be amended from time to time.

• Notwithstanding the foregoing, the LHIN may disclose information that it collects under this Agreement in accordance with LHSIA.

• The parties acknowledge that the LHIN is an agent of the Crown and may only act as an agent of the Crown in accordance with the provisions of LHSIA.

• The LHIN’s ability to enable its local health system to provide appropriate, co-ordinated, effective and efficient health services, as contemplated by LHSIA, is heavily dependent on the timely collection and analysis of accurate information.
