Freight Allowance definition

Freight Allowance means an amount equal to $17 per ton increased or decreased, as the case may be, by the percentage by which the I.C.C. published common carrier rate on newsprint (if Buyer receives by truck), or the published rate charged by the Southern Freight Association on groundwood papers (if Buyer receives by rail), changes between the Commencement Date and the date title passes to Buyer. If at any xxxx Xxxxxx charges any other purchaser a freight allowed or prepaid price pursuant to a contract with a term of two or more years which is lower than the Basic Price and affords the Seller a lower net return, f.o.b. the Mill, the Basic Price hereunder will be reduced to equal such lower price.

It shall be Seller's responsibility to make reasonable assessments annually of whether such general transportation costs change sufficiently to justify an increase or decrease pursuant to the foregoing sentence.   • If Buyer elects to purchase newsprint hereunder on a basis other than freight allowed or prepaid, the Basic Price of the newsprint so purchased shall be reduced in the amount of the "Freight Allowance" then in effect.
