Guardian of a minor definition

Guardian of a minor means a guardian for a person under 18 years of age. (30 O.S. §1- 111(A)(19))
Guardian of a minor or "guardian" means a health care guardian or a legal guardian of the person of a minor.

Related to Guardian of a minor

  • Guardian ad litem means an individual whom the court appoints to assist the court in determining the child's best interests. A guardian ad litem does not need to be an attorney.

  • Legal guardian means a person recognized by a court of law as having the duty of taking care of the person and managing the property and rights of an individual that is placed with such person by judgment, decree or other order of any court of competent jurisdiction.

  • Guardian in respect of a Minor shall mean the person(s) appointed as the guardian(s) under or acting by virtue of the Guardianship of Minors Ordinance (Cap 13. of the Laws of Hong Kong).

  • Lawyer-guardian ad litem means an attorney appointed under section 17c of this chapter. A lawyer-guardian ad litem represents the child, and has the powers and duties, as set forth in section 17d of this chapter. The provisions of section 17d of this chapter also apply to a lawyer-guardian ad litem appointed under each of the following:

  • Legal representative means a person who in law represents the estate of a deceased person, and includes any person who intermeddles with the estate of the deceased, and, where a party acts in a representative character, the person on whom the estate devolves on the death of the party so acting;

  • Successor personal representative means a personal representative, other than a special administrator, who is appointed to succeed a previously appointed personal representative.

  • Certified nurse practitioner means an individual who is licensed as a registered professional nurse under part 172 who has been granted a specialty certification as a nurse practitioner by the Michigan board of nursing under section 17210.

  • Children of other faiths means children who are members of a religious community that does not fall within the definition of ‘other Christian denominations’ at note 7 above and which falls within the definition of a religion for the purposes of charity law. The Charities Act 2011 defines religion to include:
