The Guild President shall retain all seniority rights with the City and continue to accrue service credit during the period of leave.
Reasonable efforts shall be made to accommodate the request of the Guild President to be assigned to an appropriate vacant position.
If no such request is made or there is no appropriate vacant position, the Guild President shall be returned to the same or a similar position to that held prior to being assigned to the Guild.
The Guild President shall submit a timesheet with appropriate notation of vacation, sick leave, holiday leave, or other time balance which he/she has used during the pay period.
The Guild President is neither authorized nor required to work overtime without the express written authorization of the appropriate assistant chief or above.
At the Guild's option, and after reasonable notice to the City, the Police Officer or Sergeant who serves as the elected Guild President shall be assigned to the Guild office for the purpose of administering the collective bargaining agreement.
No disclosure by any Party pursuant to this Section 6(f), however, shall be deemed to amend or supplement the Disclosure Schedule or to prevent or cure any misrepresentation, breach of warranty, or breach of covenant.
The Guild President may be returned to regular duty by the City (1) in an emergency, and (2) periodically, as necessary to maintain current certification as a law enforcement officer in the State of Washington, to maintain firearms qualification, participate in mandatory training, and to appear in court on duty-related matters.
Disputes by the subject employee as to the application of this section, including repayment schedules, shall be submitted within 30 days of the loss or damage to a board consisting of two members appointed by the Chief and two members appointed by the Guild President or designee.
In addition, the appointing authority may grant to the Librarians’ Guild President and an additional Librarian’s Guild Officer up to two days (16 hours) per month per employee for employee organization representation activities pursuant to the same criteria outlined above.
