Higher National Diploma definition

Higher National Diploma. (HND) means a qualification as set out in Schedule 1 and/or Schedule 2 validated by the Institution of at least 240 credits (one credit equalling ten notional learning hours) of which 120 credits must be at level 5. The HND is designed to provide assessed certification by an institution after two years of full time study of an undergraduate Programme to allow students to progress into employment or into further learning. It is not regulated by Ofqual.
