Hot Mix Asphalt definition

Hot Mix Asphalt. (HMA) means an Asphalt Mix manufactured and compacted at standard temperatures. It may also mean Hot Mix Asphalt manufactured at standard temperatures but with the addition of an “Additive” to assist in meeting compaction requirements.
Hot Mix Asphalt. “Hot Mix Asphalt” is located in the first field in the Item description for the purpose of identifying the mixture requirements.
Hot Mix Asphalt. (HMA) shall mean a paving material comprised of a combination of stone, sand, or gravel bound together by asphalt cement.

  • The Engineer shall provide technicians certified in accordance with TxDOT Quality Assurance Programs for Construction (QAP) or other State approved programs, such as the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association (TXAPA) for Hot Mix Asphalt, ACI for concrete, and the Soils and Base Certification Program, as listed below.

  • Delete the first paragraph and Substitute the following: “For each bituminous mixture required by the plans or the proposal, the Contractor shall formulate and submit to the Engineer, a SUPERPAVE Mix Design and a Job Mix Formula (JMF) that satisfies the requirements of this section and the mixture design criteria as written in Materials Method 5.16, Superpave Hot Mix Asphalt Mixture Design and Mixture Verification Procedures.

  • The Engineer shall provide certified technicians to perform the following tests: • Hot Mix Asphalt Testing, HMAC o ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇ o Level 1B o Level 2 o All other tests in the Manual of Testing Procedures 200-F Series or ASTM Procedures not covered in ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇, ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇, or Level 2 will be administered by the state central lab per the QAP.

  • All holes 12” in diameter or less must be immediately backfilled with CR6 Crusher Run and 6” of Perma-Patch, Hot Mix Asphalt, or approved equal.

  • The minimum acceptable depths of granular and asphalt will be as follows:  Granular “A” – 150mm (minimum)  Surface Hot Mix Asphalt, H.L.-3 or H.L.-3A – 50mm compacted depth (minimum).

  • Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement: 50 mm compacted depth of hot-mix, hot laid base course asphalt, HL-8 course mix and 40 mm compacted depth of hot-mix, hot laid base course asphalt, HL-4.

  • If a Hot Mix Asphalt Item has a payment unit other than ton, the Department will apply an appropriate conversion factor to determine the number of tons of asphalt binder used.


More Definitions of Hot Mix Asphalt

Hot Mix Asphalt means an asphalt mix that is produced using virgin aggregates, bitumen and recycled asphalt pavement with the inclusion of recycled asphalt pavement being optional.
Hot Mix Asphalt or “HMA” shall mean any combination of stone, sand and gravel bound together by asphalt cement and suitable for use in paving projects.
Hot Mix Asphalt means the asphalt with the design mix described in Section 10.3.7. “HPTE Office Facilities” means the facilities described in Section 2.2.1.
