Indirect cost recoveries means reimbursements made to an agency of the state from federal funds, other nonstate funds, cash funds, or cash funds exempt for the indirect expenses which have been incurred by the state in operating such programs. These recoveries are made by the departments using the approved indirect cost rate, as required by the state fiscal rules.
