Latent TB infection definition

Latent TB infection or “LTBI” means infection with M. tuberculosis without symptoms or signs of disease having manifested.
Latent TB infection means Mycobacterium tuberculosis is present inside the body of a person and is not actively replicating or causing TB symptoms and is not communicable.
Latent TB infection means a person has become infected with the bacterium that causes TB, but does not have TB in an active stage. A person with latent TB infection does not feel sick, does not have symptoms and cannot spread TB bacteria to others.
