Minority and Female Owned definition

Minority and Female Owned means businesses in which at least fifty-one percent (51%) of the ownership interest is held by, and which are managed and controlled by minorities and/or women, and which have obtained written certification thereof from the state in which their principal office is located or from such other governmental or non-governmental office, board, commission, department, agency or entity satisfactory to Rhode Island Housing.

  • Minority and Female Owned Business Enterprises must be certified by Georgia Department of Transportation, the City of Atlanta, Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council, MARTA, or the Federal Government.

  • All Offerors shall include specific information on the role of Minority and Female Owned Business Enterprises, if any.

  • All respondents shall include specific information regarding Minority and Female Owned Business Enterprise participation, if any.

  • The second is a Minority- and Female- Owned Business Notice which must be published as a legal notice in a regional paper (a two-county daily paper with a circulation of at least 15,000).

  • The Developer and or Contractor shall maintain records relating to all such solicitations, all responses received to solicitations (specifically identifying responses received from Minority and Female Owned businesses), and all awards made based on such solicitations and the reasons therefore.

  • MBE/FBE Participation: MILRA seeks respondents who are committed to the practice of non- discrimination in the selection of team members and relationships with subcontractors, and will take into consideration the participation of Minority and Female Owned Business Enterprises, if any, in the evaluation process.

  • Utilization Reports: The Developer shall submit to RIHousing monthly, a report of the total construction cost as of the date of said report, and shall specify therein, the total amount paid to Minority and female contractors and subcontractors or Minority and Female Owned contractors and subcontractors.Section 7.

  • Female owned business means a business concern which is at least 51% owned by one or more women, or, in the case of a corporation, at least 51% of the stock in which is owned by one or more women; and the management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more of the women who own it.

  • Minority Owned Business Enterprise or "MBE" means a firm awarded certification as a minority owned and controlled business in accordance with City Ordinances and Regulations as well as a firm awarded certification as a minority owned and controlled business by Cook County, Illinois. However, it does not mean a firm that has been found ineligible or which has been decertified by the City or Cook County.

  • Minority or Women-Owned Business Enterprise means a business enterprise, including a sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation that is:

  • Minority-owned business means a business that is at least 51 percent owned by one or more minority individuals who are United States citizens or legal resident aliens, or in the case of a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company or other entity, at least 51 percent of the equity ownership interest in the corporation, partnership, or limited liability company or other entity is owned by one or more minority individuals who are United States citizens or legal resident aliens, and both the management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more minority individuals.

  • Women-owned business concern means a concern which is at least 51 percent owned by one or more women; or in the case of any publicly owned business, at least 51 percent of its stock is owned by one or more women; and whose management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more women.

  • Women Owned Business Enterprise or "WBE" means a firm awarded certification as a women owned and controlled business in accordance with City Ordinances and Regulations as well as a firm awarded certification as a women owned business by Cook County, Illinois. However, it does not mean a firm that has been found ineligible or which has been decertified by the City or Cook County.

  • Women-owned business means a business that is at least 51 percent owned by one or more women who are U.S. citizens or legal resident aliens, or in the case of a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company or other entity, at least 51 percent of the equity ownership interest is owned by one or more women who are U.S. citizens or legal resident aliens, and both the management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more women.

  • Uniform business entity application means the current version of the NAIC Uniform Business Entity Application for resident and nonresident business entities.

  • Company-Owned IP Rights means Company IP Rights that are owned by the Company or any of its Subsidiaries.

  • Minority person means a person who is a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States and who is any of the following:

  • minority business enterprise means any small contractor or supplier of materials fifty-one percent or more of the capital stock, if any, or assets of which is owned by a person or persons: (1) who are active in the daily affairs of the enterprise, (2) who have the power to direct the management and policies of the enterprise, and (3) who are members of a minority, as such term is defined in subsection (a) of Connecticut General Statutes § 32-9n; and

  • Company Owned IP means all Intellectual Property owned by, purported to be owned by, or exclusively licensed to, the Group Companies.

  • Company Owned Real Property shall have the meaning set forth in Section 3.12(a).

  • Minority person means a Black American, Hispanic American, Native American (including American Indian, Eskimo, Aleut, and Native Hawaiian), Asian-Indian American (including a person whose origins are from India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh), Asian-Pacific American (including a person whose origins are from Japan, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, Samoa, Guam, the United States Trust Territories of the Pacific, Northern Marianas, Laos, Cambodia, or Taiwan).

  • MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (MBE means an individual, partnership, corporation or joint venture of any kind that is owned and controlled by U. S. Citizens and residents of Ohio, who are and have held themselves out as members of the following socially and economically disadvantaged groups: Blacks, American Indians, Hispanics and Asians. Only businesses certified by the State of Ohio Equal Opportunity Division in accordance with Section 123.151 of the Ohio Revised Code shall be recognized as being MBE certified within the purpose of this invitation.

  • Minority Group means any of the following racial or ethnic groups:

  • Non-Participating Marriage and Family Therapist means a Marriage and Family Therapist who does not have a written agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide services to you at the time services are rendered.

  • Woman-owned, as used in this provision, means a small business that is at least 51 percent owned by a woman or women who are U.S. citizens and who also control and operate the business.

  • U.S. Tax Person A citizen or resident of the United States, a corporation, partnership (except to the extent provided in applicable Treasury regulations) or other entity created or organized in or under the laws of the United States, any State thereof or the District of Columbia, an estate whose income is subject to United States federal income tax regardless of its source, or a trust if a court within the United States is able to exercise primary supervision over the administration of such trust, and one or more such U.S. Tax Persons have the authority to control all substantial decisions of such trust (or, to the extent provided in applicable Treasury regulations, certain trusts in existence as of August 20, 1996 that have elected to be treated as U.S. Tax Persons).

  • Certified Minority Business Enterprise means a business which has been certified by the certifying organization or jurisdiction in accordance with s. 287.0943(1) and (2).

  • Participating Marriage and Family Therapist means a Marriage and Family Therapist who has a written agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide services to you at the time services are rendered.

  • Minority group member means a United States citizen or permanent resident alien who is and can demonstrate membership in one of the following groups:

  • Majority-Owned Subsidiary of a person means a company fifty percent (50%) or more of the outstanding Voting Securities of which are owned by such person, or by a company which, within the meaning of this paragraph, is a Majority-Owned Subsidiary of such person.

  • Minority Shareholders means holders of Shares that were not tendered pursuant to the Offer or in the Subsequent Offering Period (as it may be extended by the Minority Exit Offering Period).

  • Business owned by a person with a disability means a business concern that is at least 51% owned by one or more persons with a disability and the management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more of the persons with disabilities who own it. A not- for-profit agency for persons with disabilities that is exempt from taxation under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is also considered a "business owned by a person with a disability".
