Ordinary federal law means any treaty, statute, agreement, regulation or executive order, as well as any other similar act or action that has the force of law or the effect of substantively changing the status of legal rights and obligations, that is lawfully and constitutionally ratified, enacted, adopted, consented to or otherwise promulgated by the government of the United States, or any of its agencies, instrumentalities or political subdivisions, that is under the authority of, and subordinate to, the United States Constitution and that is subject to amendment, repudiation or repeal by a legislative act or resolution that has the same ultimate passage requirements as the legislation or resolution giving Consent of Congress to this Compact, if any; excepting only: (a) any act or action that furnishes Consent of Congress for all or any portion of this Compact; and (b) any treaty, statute, regulation, ordinance or executive order that is essential to enforcing, strictly performing or complying with this Compact or the Consent of Congress in accordance with its terms.

  • Covered Federal Action means any of the following Federal actions:

  • New York Federal Reserve s Website" means the website of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York currently at http://www.newyorkfed.org, or any successor website;

  • After-imposed Federal tax means any new or increased Federal excise tax or duty, or tax that was exempted or excluded on the contract date but whose exemption was later revoked or reduced during the contract period, on the transactions or property covered by this contract that the Contractor is required to pay or bear as the result of legislative, judicial, or administrative action taking effect after the contract date. It does not include social security tax or other employment taxes.

  • Consolidated federal taxable income means the consolidated taxable income of an affiliated group of corporations, as computed for the purposes of filing a consolidated federal income tax return, before consideration of net operating losses or special deductions. "Consolidated federal taxable income" does not include income or loss of an incumbent local exchange carrier that is excluded from the affiliated group under division (A)(1) of this section.

  • Federal law means the Statute of Canada entitled “The Cannabis Act” and any other Canadian federal legislation regulating cannabis.

  • NY Federal Reserve’s Website means the website of the NY Federal Reserve, currently at xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx, or any successor website of the NY Federal Reserve or the website of any successor administrator of the Secured Overnight Financing Rate.

  • Swiss Federal Tax Administration means the tax authorities referred to in article 34 of the Swiss Withholding Tax Act.

  • New York Federal Reserve’s Website means the website of the New York Federal Reserve, currently at http://www.newyorkfed.org, or any successor website of the New York Federal Reserve or the website of any successor administrator of SOFR.

  • Agreement Accounting Principles means generally accepted accounting principles as in effect from time to time, applied in a manner consistent with that used in preparing the financial statements referred to in Section 5.4.

  • Applicable State Law For purposes of Section 9.12(d), the Applicable State Law shall be (a) the law of the State of New York and (b) such other state law whose applicability shall have been brought to the attention of the Securities Administrator and the Trustee by either (i) an Opinion of Counsel reasonably acceptable to the Securities Administrator and the Trustee delivered to it by the Master Servicer or the Depositor, or (ii) written notice from the appropriate taxing authority as to the applicability of such state law.

  • Consolidated federal income tax return means a consolidated return filed for federal income tax purposes pursuant to section 1501 of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • Non-federal entity means a state, local government, Indian tribe, institution of higher education, or nonprofit organization that carries out a federal award as a recipient or subrecipient.

  • AML Laws means all laws, rules, and regulations of any jurisdiction applicable to any Lender, the Company or the Company’s Subsidiaries from time to time concerning or relating to anti-money laundering.

  • UK generally accepted accounting principles and practices means the principles and practices prevailing from time to time in the United Kingdom which are generally regarded as permissible or legitimate by the accountancy profession irrespective of the degree of use.

  • Auction Rules means the Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2015 and its subsequent amendments.

  • Banking Act means the UK Banking Act 2009, as amended.

  • National Road Traffic Act means the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996);

  • All applicable Federal, State, and local taxes and duties means all taxes and duties, in effect on the contract date, that the taxing authority is imposing and collecting on the transactions or property covered by this contract.

  • Credit Risk Retention Rules shall have the meaning set forth in Section 4.9(a).

  • EU Securitization Rules means the EU Securitization Regulation, together with any relevant regulatory and/or implementing technical standards adopted by the European Commission in relation thereto, any relevant regulatory and/or implementing technical standards applicable in relation thereto pursuant to any transitional arrangements made pursuant to the EU Securitization Regulation, and, in each case, any relevant guidance published in relation thereto by the European Banking Authority or the European Securities and Markets Authority (or, in either case, any predecessor authority) or by the European Commission.

  • After-relieved Federal tax means any amount of Federal excise tax or duty, except social security or other employment taxes, that would otherwise have been payable on the transactions or property covered by this contract, but which the Contractor is not required to pay or bear, or for which the Contractor obtains a refund or drawback, as the result of legislative, judicial, or administrative action taking effect after the contract date.

  • Applicable Accounting Principles means, with respect to the Borrower, those accounting principles required by the ICA and prescribed by the SEC for the Borrower and, to the extent not so required or prescribed, GAAP.

  • Academies Financial Handbook means the document with that title published by the EFA and amended from time to time, on behalf of the Secretary of State.

  • Business Corporations Act means the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia) from time to time in force and all amendments thereto and includes all regulations and amendments thereto made pursuant to that Act;
