Oxides of nitrogen definition

Oxides of nitrogen means the sum of the volume mixing ratio (ppbv) of nitrogen monoxide (nitric oxide) and nitrogen dioxide expressed in units of mass concentration of nitrogen dioxide (μg/m3);
Oxides of nitrogen means the sum of the nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide contained in a gas sample as if the nitric oxide were in the form of nitrogen dioxide.
Oxides of nitrogen means compounds containing only nitrogen and oxygen as measured by the procedures specified in this regulation. Oxides of nitrogen are expressed quantitatively as if the NO is in the form of NO2, such that an effective molar mass is used for all oxides of nitrogen equivalent to that of NO2;

Examples of Oxides of nitrogen in a sentence

  • Incompatibilities/ Materials to Avoid:oxidizing agents Hazardous Decomposition Products: Cyanic acid, Ammonia, oxides of carbon, Oxides of nitrogen Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur.

  • Bid prices quoted should be inclusive of all taxes and stamp duties.

  • Oxides of nitrogen (NOX) is a general term used to describe any mixture of nitrogen oxides formed during combustion.

  • Oxides of nitrogen are listed as a Principle Pollution Substance (S.I. No. 283/2013) and as such these have been modelled to assess the impact.

  • Oxides of nitrogen (NOx) formed in combustion processes are due either to thermal fixation of atmospheric nitrogen in the combustion air ("thermal NOx"), or to the conversion of chemically bound nitrogen in the fuel ("fuel NOx").

More Definitions of Oxides of nitrogen

Oxides of nitrogen. (NOx) means compounds of nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, and other oxides of nitrogen. Nitrogen oxides are typically created during combustion processes and are major contributors to smog formation and acid deposition.
Oxides of nitrogen or “NOx” means all oxides of nitrogen, except nitrous oxide, as measured by test methods approved by the Department and EPA, such as the test methods set forth at 40 CFR 60, Appendix A, methods 7 through 7E.
Oxides of nitrogen means the sum of nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide added as parts per billion and expressed as nitrogen dioxide in micrograms per cubic meter;
Oxides of nitrogen. (NOx) means compounds of nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, and other oxides of nitrogen. Nitrogen oxides are typically created
Oxides of nitrogen or “NOx” means all the oxides of nitrogen including, but not limited to, nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), except nitrous oxide (N2O).]
Oxides of nitrogen or "NOx" means all oxides of nitrogen, including, but not limited to, nitrogen oxide and nitrogen dioxide, but excluding nitrous oxide, collectively expressed as molecular weight of nitrogen dioxide.
Oxides of nitrogen. (also denoted as NOx) means, in air pollution usage, a compound comprised of nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), expressed as molecular weight of NO2.
