Period of Limited Activity definition

Period of Limited Activity means any period of time during which a person is confined in a Hospital or nursing facility or if not confined, unable to carry on the regular and usual activities of a healthy person of the same age and sex.
Period of Limited Activity means a period when a spouse or child is confined in a health care facility; or, whether confined or not, is unable to perform the regular and usual activities of a healthy person of the same age and sex.

Examples of Period of Limited Activity in a sentence

  • If a Dependent is in a Period of Limited Activity on the day his or her Dependent Life Insurance would otherwise take effect; then insurance for that Dependent will not take effect until the day after: (1) his or her final discharge from the health care facility; or (2) resuming the normal activities of a healthy person of the same age and sex.

  • A Member’s terminated insurance may be reinstated in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), subject to the Actively at Work and Period of Limited Activity provision discussed in PART III, Section B.
