PICKET SIGN means a sign driven or pushed into the ground;
Fascia Sign means a sign attached to, marked or inscribed on, erected or placed against a wall forming part of a building, or supported by or through a wall of a building and having the exposed face thereof on a plane approximately parallel to the plane of such wall and includes a painted wall sign and an awning sign. A fascia sign shall not include any other sign defined in this By-law unless otherwise stated;
Canopy sign means a sign attached to or constructed in or on a canopy.
Awning sign means a sign with copy painted or affixed flat to the surface of an awning which does not extend vertically or horizontally beyond the limits of such awning;
Flashing sign means a sign in which a symbol, figure, message or illustration intermittently appears and/or disappears and/or illuminated with varying colour or intensity.
Window sign means a sign posted, painted, placed or affixed in or on a window exposed to public view, and shall include an interior sign that faces a window exposed to public view and located within 1 metre of a window;(240-07)
Wall sign means either a sign applied with paint or similar substance on the surface of a wall or a sign attached essentially parallel to and extending not more than 24 inches from the wall of a building with no copy on the sides or edges.
Monument sign means a low-profile sign which is incorporated into the landscape or architectural design scheme where the sign is located.
Railroad sign or signal means any sign, signal, or device erected by authority of a public body or official or by a railroad and intended to give notice of the presence of railroad tracks or the approach of a railroad train.
Banner Sign means a TEMPORARY SIGN of lightweight plastic, fabric or similar material.
Permanent sign means any structure, display, logo, device or representation which is designed or used to advertise or call attention to any item, business, activity or place and is visible from outside a building that is intended to be in place for a period that is longer than 30 days. Advertising sign means any surface or structure with characters, letters or illustrations applied there-to and displayed in any manner whatsoever outdoors for the purpose of advertising or giving information or to attract the public to any place, person, public performance, article, or merchandise, and which surface or structure is attached to, forms part of, or is connected with any building, or is fixed to the ground or to any pole, screen, fence or hoarding or displayed in space, or in or over any water body included in the jurisdiction of the Authority;
Contract Signature Page(s) means the State of Utah cover page(s) that the State Entity and Contractor sign.
sky sign ’ means a sign where the top edge of any point of that sign exceeds the height of the roof plane to which it is affixed;
Billboard Sign means an outdoor sign that advertises goods, products, or services that are not sold or offered on the property where the sign is located, and is either single faced or double faced;
Marquee sign means any sign attached to or supported by a marquee, which is a permanent roof-like projecting structure attached to a building.
duly sign means a Declaration Certificate for Local Content that has been signed by the Chief Financial Officer or other legally responsible person nominated in writing by the Chief Executive, or senior member / person with management responsibility(close corporation, partnership or individual).
Construction sign means a sign which identifies the architect, engineers, contractors and other individuals or firms involved with the construction of a building, or announces the character of the building or enterprise, which is erected during the building construction period.
Identification sign means a sign whose copy is limited to the name and address of a building, institution, or person and/or to the activity or occupation being identified.

Ashes means so much of the remains of a dead body after the due processes of cremation as may be contained in a standard sized cremation urn;
Area of Specialty means the description of an MBE or WBE firm’s business which has been determined by the Chief Procurement Officer to be most reflective of the MBE or WBE firm’s claimed specialty or expertise. Each MBE/WBE letter of certification contains a description of the firm’s Area of Specialty. This information is also contained in the Directory (defined below). Credit toward this Contract’s MBE and WBE participation goals shall be limited to the participation of firms performing within their Area of Specialty.
Fire fighter means any person employed by the state or any political subdivision as a member or officer of a fire depart- ment or a member of a volunteer department, including the state fire marshal and deputies.
Quality improvement organization or “QIO” shall mean the organization that performs medical peer review of Medicaid claims, including review of validity of hospital diagnosis and procedure coding information; completeness, adequacy and quality of care; appropriateness of admission, discharge and transfer; and appropriateness of prospective payment outlier cases. These activities undertaken by the QIO may be included in a contractual relationship with the Iowa Medicaid enterprise.
E-SIGN means the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.), as it may be amended from time to time, or any applicable additional or successor legislation that governs the same subject matter.
Parapet means a low wall or railing built along the edge of a roof or a floor;
Biomethane means biogas that meets pipeline quality natural gas standards.
