Qualifying Hospital definition

Qualifying Hospital means any of the following:
Qualifying Hospital means a Medicaid-participating, in-state hospital licensed
Qualifying Hospital means a Medicaid-participating, in-state hospital licensed under KRS Chapter 216B, including a long-term acute hospital, but excluding a university hospital and a state mental hospital defined in KRS 205.639. The department may, but is not required to, exclude critical access hospitals from the definition of "qualifying hospital" for purposes of calculating the quarterly assessments. Notwithstanding the permission referenced in this subsection, or any other provision of the law to the contrary, the department may include critical access hospitals for purposes of calculating and paying the quarterly supplemental payments authorized in KRS 205.6406;

  • Routine SNF Admission Directly From Qualifying Hospital StayIf the beneficiary is admitted to the SNF immediately following a 3-day qualifying hospital stay, there is a presumption that he or she meets the Medicare level of care criteria when correctly assigned one of the case- mix classifiers that CMS designates for this purpose as representing the required level of care.

  • Routine SNF Admission Directly From Qualifying Hospital Stay, but Initial Portion of SNF Stay Covered by Another Insurer (Medicare as Secondary Payer)When a beneficiary goes directly from a qualifying hospital stay to the SNF, but the initial portion of the SNF stay is covered by another insurer that is primary to Medicare, Medicare coverage would not start until coverage by the primary insurer ends.

  • Hospital Z, even though attesting to PIP #3, is not a Qualifying Hospital and therefore will not receive a PIP payment.

  • The PIP selected by the Qualifying Hospital will need to be clearly agreed to in writing through the PIP Attestation Form and submitted to DHS by no later than April 15, 2022.

  • Definitions "Qualifying Extended Medical Care" means confinement in a Qualifying Hospital or Nursing Care Facility prescribed by a Physician.

Qualifying Hospital means a publicly owned acute care teaching hospital eligible to receive pay- ments under paragraph 79.1(5)“y” that enters into an agreement with the department to make intergov- ernmental transfers to the department, as allowed by 42 CFR 433.51 as amended to January 26, 1993, in amounts equal to all supplemental payments received by the hospital.
Qualifying Hospital means an acute care general hospital licensed by the department of health that is qualified to receive payments from the safety net care pool pursuant to an agreement with the federal centers for medicare and medicaid services."
