The Rent Officers Order came into force on 2 November 2015 and the NI Regulations were made on 15 January 2016, coming into force on the day after the meeting (28 January 2016).

These provide for the list of LHA authorities in the Rent Officers Order that applies to England and Wales to include only English and Welsh authorities, and for the equivalent list in the Rent Officers Order that applies to Scotland to include only Scottish authorities.
This instrument has not been referred to the Social Security Advisory Committee as amendments only to the Rent Officers Order are needed.
This change will be taken forward through secondary legislation by amendment to the Housing Benefit regulations and the Rent Officers Order.
