Safety Area means a defined area on a heliport surrounding the FATO which is free of obstacles, other than those required for air navigation purposes and intended to reduce the risk of damage to helicopters accidentally diverging from the FATO;

Examples of Safety Area in a sentence

  • Runway Safety Area: Defined as a surface surrounding the runway that has been prepared for reducing the risk of damage to airplanes in the event of an undershoot, overshoot or excursion from the runway.

  • Safety-sensitive position means a job, including any supervisory or management position, in which an impairment caused by drug or alcohol usage would threaten the health or safety of any person.
