Secondary Arterial definition

Secondary Arterial means a road intended to collect and distribute traffic in a manner similar to primary arterials, except that these roads service minor traffic-generating areas such as community commercial areas, primary and secondary educational facilities, hospitals, major recreational areas, churches, and offices and are designed to carry traffic from collector streets to the system of primary artetials.
Secondary Arterial means a highway the function of which is to collect and distribute traffic from a major arterial highway to minor streets or directly to traffic destinations; to serve traffic from neighborhood to neighborhood within a community center, athletic field, neighborhood shopping area, major park, golf course, important grouping of churches, multiple residence area, concentration of offices or clinics, major private recreation facility, or large hospital.
Secondary Arterial means a public street connecting two or more roads of equal or greater classification, or connecting two or more communities. A secondary arterial may serve as an alternate route to higher classified road or a traffic generation of medium importance, and serves an additional function of land service.
