Shiftworkers definition

Shiftworkers as defined in the respective Awards will be the definition of a shiftworker for the purposes of the National Employment Standards.

Examples of Shiftworkers in a sentence

  • Employees (other than casuals) will be entitled to four (4) weeks paid annual leave per annum, provided that Continuous Shiftworkers shall be entitled to one additional week’s paid annual leave.

  • Employees (other than casuals) will be entitled to 4 weeks paid annual leave per annum, provided that Continuous Shiftworkers shall be entitled to one additional week’s paid annual leave.

  • Shiftworkers Employees who worked a minimum of seventy-five (75) twelve (12) hour shifts in the previous calendar year will be eligible for additional vacation credits to compensate them for the time they spend at work at shift exchange time.

Where the average penalty payments under this clause 39.5 is less than the amount that would be payable under clause 39.4, the employee will be entitled to the higher amount specified by clause 39.4.

  • Shiftworkers who work on any afternoon or night shift which does not continue for at least 5 successive afternoons or nights will be paid 150% of the ordinary hourly rate for all ordinary hours of work occurring during the shift.

  • Shiftworkers may be required to work a shift up to 12 consecutive ordinary hours (including meal breaks).

  • Long-term casuals have the same entitlements as casual workers except they are also entitled to take parental leave, request flexible working arrangements, and access to unfair dismissal.• Shiftworkers - an employee who works shifts and gets an extra payment for working shift hours.

  • Health care worker means a person other than a health care professional who provides medical, dental, or other health-related care or treatment under the direction of a health care professional with the authority to direct that individual's activities, including medical technicians, medical assistants, dental assistants, orderlies, aides, and individuals acting in similar capacities.

  • Homecare Worker means a provider, as described in OAR 411-031- 0040, that is directly employed by a consumer to provide either hourly or live-in services to the eligible consumer.

  • Casual Worker means a worker engaged by the hour and who may be dismissed or leave the employer's service at any moment without notice and except as hereinafter provided shall not be engaged for more than 30 hours per week in ordinary hours.

  • Transportation means any land, sea or air conveyance required to Transport the Insured during an Emergency Evacuation. Transportation includes, but is not limited to, air ambulances, land ambulances and private motor vehicles.

  • Crew means the Master, officers and ratings of the numbers, rank and nationality specified in Annex “B” attached hereto.

  • Transportation network company means a company or organization facilitating and/or providing transportation services using a computer or digital application or platform to connect or match passengers with drivers for compensation or a fee.

  • Labour means workers employed by a Contractor directly or indirectly through a sub- contractor or by an agent to do any skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled, manual, technical or clerical work relating to the subject of Contract for hire or reward.

  • Coalition means an alliance of two or more political parties formed for the purpose of pursuing a common goal and is governed by a written agreement deposited with the Registrar;

  • seasonal worker means a worker who has been paid wages by a seasonal employer for work performed only during the normal seasonal work period.

  • Home health aide services means the personal care and maintenance activities provided to individuals for the purpose of promoting normal standards of health and hygiene.

  • Civil union means a civil union established pursuant to Act 91 of the 2000 Vermont Legislative Session, entitled “Act Relating to Civil Unions”.
