Total organic carbon or ”TOC” means total organic carbon reported in units of milligrams per liter (mg/L), as measured using heat, oxygen, ultraviolet irradiation, chemical oxidants, or combinations of these oxidants that convert organic carbon to carbon dioxide, rounded to two significant figures.
Total organ dose equivalent (TODE) means the sum of the deep dose equivalent and the committed dose equivalent to the organ receiving the highest dose as described in 641—40.86(1)“f.”
Mental or Nervous Disorder means any disease or condition, regardless of whether the cause is organic, that is classified as a Mental or Nervous Disorder in the current edition of International Classification of Diseases, published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is listed in the current edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, published by the American Psychiatric Association or other relevant State guideline or applicable sources.
Tribal organization means the elected governing body of any Indian tribe or any legally established organization of Indians that is controlled by one or more such bodies or by a board of directors elected or selected by one or more such bodies (or elected by the Indian population to be served by such organization) and that includes the maximum participation of Indians in all phases of its activities; and
Chemical dependency means the physiological and psychological addiction to a controlled drug or substance, or to alcohol. Dependence upon tobacco, nicotine, caffeine or eating disorders are not included in this definition.
Victim or target of Nazi persecution means any individual persecuted or targeted for persecution by
Non-Methane Organic Gases or “NMOG” means the total mass of oxygenated and non-oxygenated hydrocarbon emissions.

Violent juvenile felony means any of the delinquent acts enumerated in subsection B or C of
Intimidating, threatening, abusive, or harming conduct means, but is not limited to, conduct that does the following:
Threatened or endangered species means all spe- cies of wildlife listed as "threatened" or "endangered" by the United States Secretary of the Interior or Commerce, and all species of wildlife designated as "threatened" or "endan- gered" by the Washington fish and wildlife commission.
Political organization means a party, committee, association, fund, or other organization (whether or not incorporated) that is required to file a statement of organization with the State Board of Elections or a county clerk under Section 9-3 of the Election Code (10 ILCS 5/9-3), but only with regard to those activities that require filing with the State Board of Elections or a county clerk.
Catastrophic injury or illness means a life-threatening injury or illness of an employee or a member of an employee's immediate family that totally incapacitates the employee from work, as verified by a licensed physician, and forces the employee to exhaust all leave time earned by that employee, resulting in the loss of compensation from the state for the employee. Conditions that are short-term in nature, including, but not limited to, common illnesses such as influenza and the measles, and common injuries, are not catastrophic. Chronic illnesses or injuries, such as cancer or major surgery, that result in intermittent absences from work and that are long-term in nature and require long recuperation periods may be considered catastrophic.

Regulated NSR pollutant means the following:
Experimental or Investigative means treatments, devices or prescription medications which are recommended by a Physician, but are not considered by the medical community as a whole to be safe and effective for the condition for which the treatments, devices or prescription medications are being used. This includes any treatments, procedures, facilities, equipment, drugs, drug usage, devices, or supplies not recognized as accepted medical practice, and any of those items requiring federal or other governmental agency approval not received at the time services are rendered.
Loss of Hand or Foot means complete severance through or above the wrist or ankle joint. (In South Carolina, "Loss of Hand" can also mean the loss of four whole fingers from one hand.)
Violent student means a student under the age of 21 who:
Organic Waste means such type of Solid Waste that can be degraded by micro- organisms, but shall not include Excluded Wastes;
Organic law means the statute governing the internal affairs of a domestic or foreign corporation or
Victim of domestic violence means a person protected under this act and shall include any person who is 18 years of age or older or who is an emancipated minor and who has been subjected to domestic violence by a spouse, former spouse, or any other person who is a present or former household member. Volatile organic compounds or “VOC” means any compound of carbon, excluding carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, metallic carbides or carbonates, and ammonium carbonate, which participates in atmospheric photochemical reactions.
acid attack victims means a person disfigured due to violent assaults by throwing of acid or similar corrosive substance.
Financial organization means any bank, trust company, savings bank, industrial bank, land bank, safe deposit company, private banker, savings and loan association, credit union, cooperative bank, small loan company, sales finance company, investment company, or any type of insurance company.
