Tribal law enforcement officer definition

Tribal law enforcement officer means any of the follow- ing:
Tribal law enforcement officer means a person who is employed by a tribe for the purpose of detecting and preventing crime and enforcing the tribe’s laws or ordinances and who is authorized by the tribe to make arrests of Indian persons for viola- tions of the tribe’s laws or ordinances.
Tribal law enforcement officer means a police officer or enforcement officer commissioned or appointed by the Tribe, and includes but is not limited to Swinomish Police Department officers and Swinomish Fisheries Enforcement officers.
