Wind Energy Systems definition

Wind Energy Systems refers to the energy systems that convert wind energy into electrical or mechanical energy; and
Wind Energy Systems means equipment that converts and then stores or transfers energy from the wind into usable forms of energy on a large, industrial scale for commercial. or utility purposes. Small scale wind systems of less than 170 feet in height with a 60-foot rotor diameter and a nameplate capacity of less than 100 kilowatts or less are exempt from this definition and the provisions of this Ordinance.
Wind Energy Systems means any device, such as a wind charger, windmill or wind turbine and associated facilities, that converts wind energy potential into electrical energy with a peak generating capacity of 100 kilowatts or less and that has been installed by a Qualified Wind Energy System Installer.
