This position will be responsible for process engineering work packages during the design, construction and startup of a new green-field, large scale manufacturing facility. Responsibilities will include supporting the design development, procurement, factory acceptance testing, installation, commissioning and qualification of new process systems and equipment utilized in the production of biopharmaceutical drug substance. Later on, the process engineer will be responsible for future engineering optimization projects. Primary Responsibilities • Develop test plans and protocols for FAT, SAT, commissioning and validation. • Lead
commissioning within assigned areas, including equipment inspections, factory acceptance testing (FAT),
site acceptance testing (SAT), field verification walk-downs and commissioning test execution. • Provide equipment and system mechanical completion walk-downs, safety walk-downs, system energization plans, lock-out tag-out, and review and approval of equipment installation manuals (EIM). • Prepare regular status updates for reporting progress, issues, safety, quality etc. to project management. • Provide process engineering input during design development, construction, testing, commissioning and validation, and help manage changes through the project. • Review and approve process engineering specifications, including process piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), datasheets, and
procurement packages for new equipment and systems. • Review and approve equipment vendor submittals, including system piping layouts, general arrangements and other equipment specifications and drawings. • Lead the turnover of systems for subsequent validation activities and provide technical support throughout validation activities. • Understand and implement internal policies, procedures and specifications as required for the execution of process engineering for the project. • Interface with stakeholders to ensure the design, execution and delivery are in accordance with Global Engineering, Quality, Environmental and Safety procedures. Support regional implementation of equipment installation, upgrades and repairs and provide constructive feedback to engineers, tire designers, and leadership to continuously help improve this process. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Daily Equipment Care & Preventative Maintenance. Verify and maintain machine reliability to insure proper operation. Adhere to Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) and calibration standards. Recognize abnormal situations and work with team members to identify and resolve equipment or process related issues. Process Control & Equipment Support: Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) run charts to recognize abnormal conditions, determine root cause(s), and work as a team to resolve problems. Provide operational assistance on equipment installation/upgrades. Implement improvements to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Safety & Environment. You are accountable for your safety and the safety of your team members. Take proper precautions to insure no one gets hurt. Follow environment, health, and safety standards/procedures and promote positive, proactive safety practices with your team. Training: Train /Develop others on machine/equipment setup and operations. Share best practices with your team and perform updates to safety, quality, and standard work procedures. Education: Required:min 2-year associate degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical or manufacturing technology or equivalent apprenticeship plus 3 years experience Desired: Bachelor in mechanical or electrical Engineering or in Automation Experience:Prefer minimum 5-7 years industrial facility experience: Networking and Information Technology experience desired. Knowledge & Skills; Ability to operate both manual and automated industrial machinery - knowledge of PLCs Ability to troubleshoot / improve mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to follow documented procedures.
Ability to perform multiple tasks or operate multiple equipment within any work day. Working knowledge of data acquisition, production planning, run charting systems. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills - combined with the capability to lead and coach co-workers Sense of urgency to resolve issues. Good problem solving skills. Self initiative and self discipline. Position requires shift, evening, night and weekend work assignments. 24 Hr / day (3 shift) operating environment.
