Purpose & Accountabilities
Xxx Xxxxx Operations Engineer reports to the Well Ops Team Lead DEV and is a key member of the office-based Operations team. This position is responsible for ensuring operations are executed in a safe and efficient manner on the drilling unit, delivering wells that meet the functional objectives and agreed value drivers. The Operations Engineer supports the day-to-day execution of the drilling program ensuring efficient work planning, risk mitigation and contingency management are in place. Operations will be executed in compliance with Shell and local Standards. The Operations Engineer will form part of the team ensuring operations are conducted with the highest regard for Personal and Process Safety. Visits to the wellsite
are a key part of this role, as are roles on the Duty / Emergency Response teams.
The Operations Engineer will take over xxx xxxxx from the detailed design endorsement (DDE). He/she will be responsible to close out the outstanding actions from the DDE. Thereafter the ops engineer will be preparing the detailed drilling Programs for execution in line with the Shell standard and applicable legislation (NL/UK). The ops engineer is responsible for coordination of the well materials/ well services related to xxx xxxxx within the drilling campaign. The Ops engineer will work closely with the other operations engineer, the drilling supervisors, the WOTL and vendor teams to ensure continuous improvement of the standard practices. During the executing of the drilling operations the well operations engineer will be the primary wells focal point and will be responsible to guide and support the drilling operation from the office.
Together the with cost controller, xxx Xxxxx Operations Engineer is responsible for the cost control of the assigned well projects during the preparation and execution phase. This means a responsibility for creation of the Detailed Network Planning cost estimate before the start of the well operations, and during execution a responsibility for tracking of the weekly cost and the delivery of the weekly cost progress report (VOWD (Value of Work Done), LE (latest estimate)) with the support of the cost controller during the well execution.
The role is based in the Netherlands and will involve internal and external stakeholders to Wells. The incumbent will have a demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries to effectively implement the new ways of working, both within Wells and in multi-disciplinary settings. They will have strong technical engineering and operational delivery experience in Wells, including time in office based and rig site roles.
The successful candidate is expected to partake in the NAM Wells week/weekend duty roster to manage the active rig units outside of regular hours and as such forms part of NAM’s emergency response organisation.

Skills & Competency Requirements
• Wells Round II Certification/Diploma required, open to both CWI/WE discipline.
• IWCF Level 4
• Proven experience in WE and/or CWI with a track record in well design, planning and execution delivery. Experience with P&A work is seen as beneficial.
• Proven project cost control experience in a well's environment.
• Strong stakeholder integration and influencing skills. Proven ability to build relationships effectively and to deliver across multiple teams and
disciplines
• Good communicator and ability to work independently and efficiently across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong Diversity and Inclusions values and skills.

Xxx Xxxxx Department in NAM serves onshore and offshore Assets. The department is split up into Completions & Well Intervention (CWI) and Well Engineering (WE). WE is mainly involved in design and planning of P&A and limited amount of development of new wells, workovers, sidetracks on existing wells. There is expected to be 2 continuous land P&A strings (HWOU + rigless) and 1 continuous offshore P&A string from 2023 onwards. CWI is involved in Routine and Non-Routine WRFM well interventions as well as supporting the P&A activities, including P&A on a Wire.
