The article is devoted to the study of the concept of "contract" in terms of its multiple meanings and broad understanding, as well as a fundamental basis for all types of contracts. Scientific positions on the category of "contract" are considered to ensure its correct interpretation. Basic theories of the contract are broad to the attention that will allow determining the concept of the contract better understand the features of contracts in economic relations.
