Illness Absence. 1. A teacher contracted for 184 or more days will be provided with 12 personal/family illness absence days each year (see Article 2). Illness absence days will be provided on the first day the teacher works; or the first teacher workday for those teachers authorized to use paid benefit days under the express terms of this Agreement, and be subject to use at the time from the beginning of the teacher’s contract. If the first work day is after the beginning of the school year, or for any teacher on leave or who is contracted for less than 184 days, the days will be prorated (fifteen [15] unpaid days equals one personal/family illness day). Request for illness absence shall be given to the principal, supervisor, or designee at least one (1) hour prior to the commencement of the normal school day, except in cases of emergency. These may not be used other than in multiples of a half (1/2) day.

Illness Absence. In the event of illness or other need for absence, please text your teammates to see if they can cover your shift, then notify your supervisor by text/call/Teams. If you are unable to get coverage for your shift, we would prefer that you not come in. If you are asked to cover a shift, please make sure your total hours for the calendar week does not exceed 20 hours.
Illness Absence. Employees having one (1) or more years of NCS shall be paid at the basic wage rate for illness absences on scheduled work days, up to a maximum of forty (40) paid illness absence hours per calendar year. Employees must notify their supervisor before their scheduled start time that they will be absent from work due to illness. Employees who report to work and subsequently become ill must notify the Company prior to leaving work and, in such cases, will be paid for the remainder of the day if paid time as described above is available. Employees working in geographical locations with paid sick leave laws will be advanced PTO prior to six (6) months of service and in the amount and increments required to comply with the paid sick leave laws. Remaining PTO, if any, will be granted in accordance with the PTO Policy.

Executive must keep the Company informed, including anticipated date of return to work. A self-certificate will be accepted by Company for absences of up to seven (7) business days. For periods of illness of seven (7) consecutive days or more, including weekends, Executive will be required to obtain a certificate from Executive’s physician and promptly provide such certificate to the Company. The Company will honor its obligations to pay Statutory Sick Pay (“SSP”). The Company may offer enhanced sick pay on top of Executive’s SSP entitlement. In such cases the payment of Company sick pay is entirely at the discretion of the Company and will be made, inclusive of any SSP paid for the same period of absence. Any time Executive’s health is a cause for concern, the Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion and at its expense, to require Executive to undergo a medical examination by a physician or consultant of Company’s choice. For the avoidance of doubt, the Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to terminate Executive’s employment at any time, notwithstanding that Executive may be in receipt of Company sick pay or be entitled to or receiving benefits pursuant to any permanent health insurance scheme operated by the Company from time to time.

  • Illness injury, or pregnancy-related condition of a member of the employee’s immediate family where the employee’s presence is reasonably necessary for the health and welfare of the employee or affected family member;

  • Vacation; Leave A part-time employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each month in which the employee receives pay for at least twice the number of hours in the employee’s normal workweek, at the rate for years of service established in clause 34.02 of this Agreement, prorated and calculated as follows:

  • Leaves of Absence Article 11 applies for both paid and unpaid leaves. For the purposes of an unpaid 11.25 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 14.05 hours. For the purposes of an unpaid 7.5 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 9.375 hours.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Vacations; Leave The Employee shall be entitled to annual paid vacation in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Directors for executive employees and to voluntary leave of absence, with or without pay, from time to time at such times and upon such conditions as the Board of Directors may determine in its discretion.

  • Paid Leave (a) An employee who is a volunteer member of the Defence Force Reserves or the Cadet Force is entitled to paid leave of absence for Defence service, subject to the conditions set out hereunder.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.
