Technology Training. Employees who work within the classroom and are required to use classroom technology and/or assistive technology will be trained. This training will be offered in multiple venues. All employees who are required to use technology and/or software will be trained. These training sessions will be offered in multiple venues as necessary for employees to use the technology and/or software in the performance of their required duties.

Technology Training. Support staff employees will be afforded the opportunity to obtain Board provided training for new technology. If the training is designated as required by the administration, the support staff employee will be paid his/her regular rate of pay for all training time spent outside of the regular work day. New systems, equipment, or software that are demonstrated to be unfamiliar to the employee and are required in their assignment shall be designated as requiring training. All other training opportunities are voluntarily and will not be paid.
Technology Training. RE: TECHNOLOGY TRAINING The parties understand that the technology training language of Article X, Section 1(g) and Article X, Section 4(d) shall not be interpreted as requiring faculty members and ACLs to possess each and every skill listed in those sections. Rather, it is the parties’ understanding that faculty members and ACLs should possess strong computer/information literacy skills and that they possess such skills required for the full and effective performance of their positions. To the extent that faculty members and ACLs need to improve their computer/information literacy skills, the parties encourage them to engage in Professional Development activities designed to gain or strengthen such literacy skills. The parties have provided additional funds for this exclusive purpose, which may include group training, although Professional Development funds may also legitimately be used for this purpose. The parties further recognize that it is not reasonable to require employees to acquire, retain, or use technology training skills if they do not have regular workplace access to computer hardware and that management is responsible for providing access to the computer hardware to the extent it seeks to require or encourage the acquiring, retaining, or use of such skills.
