12 LIFE INSURANCE. 30 (1) The County shall pay the full premium of employees’ life insurance 31 coverage based upon earnings to and including the first $20,000 thereof. 1 The premium shall be shared by the County and the employee for basic 2 coverage above the first $20,000 pursuant to the formula contained in 3 Chapter 62. 4 (2) The County shall pay life insurance premiums for all retired employees 5 except deferred retirees. This provision shall have no effect on present 6 policy benefits. 7 (3) In the event an employee has exhausted accumulated sick leave and is 8 placed on leave-of-absence-without-pay status on account of illness, the 9 County shall continue to pay the full cost of life insurance coverage for 10 such employee during such leave for a period not to exceed one year.
