260 Day Contracts. a. In addition to the rights, obligations and benefits contained in this Negotiated Agreement, including those set forth above in Paragraph 1 for 220-day bargaining unit members, all bargaining unit members employed under 260-day contracts shall receive twenty (20) days of vacation during a given contract year. If hired after the start of the contract year, such bargaining unit teachers shall be entitled to a prorated number of vacation days rounded to the nearest full day. b. In the event vacation days to which the unit member is entitled are not used by June 30th of any year, a maximum of ten (10) days shall be carried over to the succeeding year. More than ten (10) days may be carried over with the Superintendent’s approval. Any vacation days carried over shall be used before June 30 of the next year. c. The scheduling of vacation shall be subject to the Superintendent’s or his/her designee’s prior approval. Requests for vacation leave must be submitted in writing to the Assistant Superintendent – Human Resources and Operations.
