Absences Because of an Injury on Duty. A. Upon the request of an employee who is absent from work as a result of a compensable injury as covered under the provisions of the Worker’s Compensation Act, the School Board will pay the difference between the compensation benefits received by the employee and the employee’s daily rate of pay to the extent of the employee’s accumulated paid absence leave. B. Such difference shall be paid by the School Board to the employee only for the period of disability or until the employee’s accumulated paid absence leave is exhausted. C. The deduction from the employee’s accumulated paid absence leave shall be an amount necessary to equal the difference between the Worker’s Compensation benefits and the employee’s daily rate of pay.
