Academic Assistance Sample Clauses

Academic Assistance. It is expected that teachers shall recognize their responsibilities to provide extra help for students needing academic assistance and that the adequate provision of such extra help may require a teacher's remaining at school beyond the termination of regular working hours.
Academic Assistance. Except for student staff who are specifically employed by the Student Athlete Support Services Office, student staff are prohibited from providing any academic assistance of any kind to any student-athlete. This shall include, but not be limited to, assistance with written assignments, assistance with homework, preparation for or completion of quizzes for a student-athlete, preparation for or completion of exams for a student-athlete, any other kind of academic assistance. 1. Impermissible Benefits NCAA bylaws specify that a violation of NCAA rules has occurred if any special arrangement is made by a CSU staff member or representative of athletics interests to provide a student-athlete (or relative or friend of a student-athlete) with a benefit that is not expressly authorized by NCAA legislation. Items and benefits, which CSU staff, boosters, and student staff are precluded from providing to student-athletes and their families/friends include, but are not limited to: a. Cash or loans in any amount b. Signing or co-signing a loan with an outside agency c. Gifts of any kind or free or reduced costs or services d. Access to a cell phone e. Use of a car, motorcycle, bike, or other transportation means f. Transportation at the direction of an Athletics staff member g. Free or reduced lodging including access to vacation homes h. Tickets to athletic, CSU, or community events i. Promise of financial aid after graduation or exhausting eligibility 2. Unethical Conduct NCAA Bylaw 10.1 states that unethical conduct by a prospective or enrolled student-athlete or a current or a former CSU staff member (a coach, professor, tutor, teaching assistant, or student staff ) may include, but is not limited to the following: a. Refusal to furnish information relevant to an investigation of a possible violation of an NCAA regulation when requested to do so by the NCAA or CSU; b. Knowing involvement in arranging for fraudulent academic credit or false transcripts for a prospective or an enrolled student-athlete; c. Knowing involvement in offering or providing a prospective or an enrolled student-athlete an improper inducement or extra benefit or improper financial aid; d. Knowingly furnishing the NCAA or CSU with false or misleading information concerning the individual’s involvement in or knowledge of matters relevant to a possible violation of an NCAA regulation; e. Receipt of benefits by a CSU staff member, including student staff, for facilitating or arranging a meeting bet...
Academic Assistance. The Program agrees to provide, either in conjunction with the PCMSAP Scholar's local school, community agencies or otherwise, assistance to the PCMSAP Scholar with his/her academic activities. The PCMSAP Scholar agrees to attend and actively participate and the Parent further agrees to assist the PCMSAP Scholar in attending all the required monthly high school meetings and receive academic enrichment and assistance on a regular (at least monthly) basis.
Academic Assistance. ASSETs programs will include tutoring, homework assistance, Credit Recovery, and CAHSEE Prep in their academic assistance element. The assistance will be aligned with the regular academic programs of the students and will assist them in meeting state and local academic achievement standards in core academic subjects, such as reading, mathematics, and science.
