Academic Edition. An Academic Edition Licence is exclusively available to recognised not-for-profit academic or educational institutions (Academic Institutions) and Persons who are accredited or matriculated students or members of academic staff at an Academic Institution (Academic). If Customer is an Academic Institution Customer may use, and may authorise Academics to use, the Software solely for the purposes of providing or carrying out research, education, tuition or study in connection with the courses offered by the Academic Institution or research undertaken on behalf of the Academic Institution. The maximum number of Academics that can be authorised to use the Software at any one time is specified in an Invoice. If Customer is an Academic that has acquired an Academic Edition, Customer may use the Software for research or study in connection with Customer's role at the Academic Institution. If Customer ceases to maintain a role at an Academic Institution, this Agreement shall terminate with immediate effect. All research undertaken using the Software shall be strictly in accordance with the definition of Research and Experimental Development (R and D) according to section 2.1 of the OECD Frascati Manual 2015 available at xxxxx://xxx.xxxx.xxx/innovation/inno/frascati-manual.htm, which is as follows: "R&D comprise creative and systematic work undertaken in order to increase the stock of knowledge -- including knowledge of humankind, culture and society -- and to devise new applications of available knowledge". Supplier requires Customer to place any results of research into the public domain before or at the same time as Customer provides the results to commercial sponsors or other sources of research funding.

  • Academic Year Academic Year is defined as beginning with the start of fall semester and ending with the completion of spring semester.

  • Academic Program The Charter School shall operate the academic program in accordance with this Agreement, the Charter School’s Application, and applicable state and federal law, including providing at least the same equivalent time of instruction as other public schools and complying with assessment and accountability laws and rules (T.C.A. § 49-13-111). If the Charter School is performing below standards, the Authorizer may review the academic program. The Charter School will notify the Authorizer of any material changes to the academic program that are a change from the Charter School’s Application, and the Authorizer will evaluate to determine if they are material changes to this Agreement. Any changes to the school structure shall be considered material to this Agreement and shall not be permitted unless a formal amendment to this Agreement is secured in advance according to the provisions outlined in T.C.A. § 49-13-110(d), Commission Rule 1185-01-01-.04, and this Agreement. For purposes of this Agreement, school structure shall be defined as the academic focus or goals of the Charter School and grade levels served.

  • Traditional Medicine Cooperation 1. The aims of Traditional Medicine cooperation will be: (a) to build on existing agreements or arrangements already in place for Traditional Medicine cooperation; and (b) to promote information exchanges on Traditional Medicine between the Parties. 2. In pursuit of the objectives in Article 149 (Objectives), the Parties will encourage and facilitate, as appropriate, the following activities, including, but not limited to: (a) encouraging dialogue on Traditional Medicine policies and promotion of respective Traditional Medicine; (b) raising awareness of active effects of Traditional Medicine; (c) encouraging exchange of experience in conservation and restoration of Traditional Medicine; (d) encouraging exchange of experience on management, research and development for Traditional Medicine; (e) encouraging cooperation in the Traditional Medicine education field, mainly through training programs and means of communication; (f) having a consultation mechanism between the Parties' Traditional Medicine authorities; (g) encouraging cooperation in Traditional Medicine therapeutic services and products manufacturing; and (h) encouraging cooperation in research in the fields of Traditional Medicine in order to contribute in efficacy and safety assessments of natural resources and products used in health care.

  • ACADEMIC FREEDOM A. The parties seek to educate young people in the democratic tradition, to xxxxxx a recognition of individual freedom and social responsibility to inspire meaningful awareness of a respect for the Constitution and the Xxxx of Rights, and to instill appreciation of the values of individual responsibility. It is recognized that these democratic values can best be transmitted in an atmosphere that is free from censorship and artificial restraints upon free inquiry and learning, and in which academic freedom for teacher and student is encouraged.

  • Development cooperation 1. The Parties recognise that development cooperation is a crucial element of their Partnership and an essential factor in the realisation of the objectives of this Agreement as laid down in Article 1. This cooperation can take financial and non-financial forms.

  • Research Use Reporting To assure adherence to NIH GDS Policy, the PI agrees to provide annual Progress Updates as part of the annual Project Renewal or Project Close-out processes, prior to the expiration of the one (1) year data access period. The PI who is seeking Renewal or Close-out of a project agree to complete the appropriate online forms and provide specific information such as how the data have been used, including publications or presentations that resulted from the use of the requested dataset(s), a summary of any plans for future research use (if the PI is seeking renewal), any violations of the terms of access described within this Agreement and the implemented remediation, and information on any downstream intellectual property generated from the data. The PI also may include general comments regarding suggestions for improving the data access process in general. Information provided in the progress updates helps NIH evaluate program activities and may be considered by the NIH GDS governance committees as part of NIH’s effort to provide ongoing stewardship of data sharing activities subject to the NIH GDS Policy.

  • Academic Freedom and Responsibility 6.1 The University and United Academics agree that academic freedom is essential to the mission of the University and that providing an environment of free and honest inquiry is essential to its functioning. Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be construed to limit or abridge any individual's right to free speech or to infringe upon the academic freedom of any member of the University community.
